A Wake-Up Call, Not a Fall: Our Commitment to Quality, Transparency, and Growth

At Snack Mania, our mission has always been to deliver irresistible Brazilian-inspired snacks with integrity, safety, and heart. So when we were recently informed of a technical regulatory oversight involving our frozen chicken coxinhas, we knew transparency was the only way forward.

We want to assure all of our customers, partners, and fellow Snack Maniacs: there was no health risk, no quality issue, and absolutely no compromise to our standards.

So, What Happened?

As reported by the USDA and local media outlets, we issued a voluntary recall of our frozen chicken coxinhas. The reason? Although our products are made in a fully licensed facility that is inspected yearly by the New Jersey Department of Health, we learned that products containing meat or poultry sold across state lines also require a specific federal inspection from the USDA.

This was a paperwork issue, not a food safety one.

In fact, Snack Mania purchases all of its meats and poultry exclusively from USDA-inspected American suppliers, and our entire production process is rooted in proper food handling protocols, health code compliance, and quality control.

We simply misunderstood a bureaucratic requirement that applies when expanding nationally through supermarkets. The good news?

We’re already working hand-in-hand with the USDA to get the necessary federal certification so that we can return to store shelves as soon as possible — stronger and smarter.

A Message to Our Community

We are deeply thankful to all of you who’ve helped us grow to this point. Because of your love for our food, we’ve been able to scale Snack Mania to a national level. And that growth comes with learning curves.

Thank God this was just a wake-up call — a chance for us to correct a technicality before we were standing on a higher pedestal.

We take full responsibility for the error, but we also want to be clear: this recall has nothing to do with the quality of our food. Our snacks remain safe, delicious, and available in our own stores without any restriction.

To our fellow Snack Maniacs: we’re not going anywhere.

Investigating the Bigger Picture

As part of our due diligence, we’ve also assembled our legal team to look into the possibility of a conflict of interest — including whether any competitors may have acted in bad faith or even shared false or misleading information intended to harm our reputation.

We believe in healthy competition, but we also believe in fairness and integrity. If any lines were crossed, we will pursue the proper channels to hold those responsible accountable.
